bible study, and cleaning the house. I'm going to have
a low key christmas. I did not decorate. Too hard. Ken
would help me with the tree and the christmas letter.
He also did some of the special treats. I did write a letter
of sorts. But will mail after christmas. I've been listening
to audio books:
On Agate Hill - Lee Smith
Anne Frank Remebered
Scarpetta Factor - Patricia Cornwell
Deep Dark Secret - Kimberly Roby
Rain Gods - James Lee Burke
Plum Pudding Murder - Joanna Flue
The Blossom and the Nettles - Diane Noble
Heaven - Randy Alcon

I've been knitting a project for my "Hand and Foot"
buddys so I can't tell. I've got to knit Chases' stocking
but the pattern isn't here yet... rats.

Fingerless Gloves

I'm trying to make 6 pairs of these for Christmas presents for my "Hand and Foot" buddies.
One down and 5 to go. I plan on some heavy duty knitting over thankgiving weekend. This is my own pattern - I like this version with the thumb better!

Beaded Wristlets

I took a class this weekend at our local guild...Knitters of the North.
I enjoyed the ladies - about 15 of us. We learned 2 different ways to add beads to our projects.
Carol, a local Guild member taught the class. She has the pattern for sale on Ravelry. So go over here www. ravelry and look up.

WIP

Finished Projects

Hello from Seattle

What's Going On - Well my husband and I are in Seattle. The last 3 months have been very hard for us. I haven't blogging much. I did try and post pictures of projects. My husband has stomach cancer - diagnoised 1/1/2002. After 9 months of chemo and radiation his scans have been good. Then this past Feb. he started having trouble swallowing but CT scan show nothing, but his tumor marker rose from 7 to 440. After a PET scan - which was delayed because of Mt. Redoubt erruptions - it showed that the cancer was indeed back. But only showed one hot spot - the same spot as before..the junction of the stomach and esphogus. Ken's onocologist in seattle want us to consider stomach surgery. The doctor at Swedish is very good and does this surgery on a regular basis. So it was off to seattle. We we're expecting a month stay. But after the sugeon got in the abdomen and they decided that the cancer has seeded around the stomach and that the surgery would be to hard on Ken and that chemo only would be the only choice. We are disappointed. We know that God is in control. The Dr. was able to put in a stent to help Ken with his swollowing and they also placed a feeding tube for use later down the line to help keep Ken hygrated. Enough about that - now on to knitting.

WIP - I've finished "The Cable Knitted Vest" before we left, And have finished the "Slouch Socks". I started
Seamless Baby Kimono by Jacki Kelly. I love this pattern and I'm almost finished,

Audio Books - I've been listen to some downloaded books on my SANSA- "Lone Star Calder" by Janet Dailey. Yesterday I finished 74th Seaside Avenue by Debbie Mc Comber
and "The Art of Mending" by Elizabeh Berg. I've been downloading from the "Lending Library". The selecting is pretty good,

April 9,2009

Well we leave for seattle 4/22 to see my husbands onacologist. The waiting is driving me crazy. It's in God's hands. Now we're just trying to continue as usual. It's so nerve racking.
If you believe in the power of prayer as we do please pray for my husband. He has re-occurring Stomach/cancer. He's had a clean slate for the last 5 years. Not knowing what the course of treatment is the hardest thing right now. I'm trying to knit but get side-track.
Easter is here and a time to celebrate the resurection of our Savior. Always a joyous time and we are moving forward..... Thank you in advance. I'll try and update more later.
God Bless - Linda

WIP'S and Finished

What I'm Doing – Work, work, work - finally the project is almost done. Now to get caught up before we go to Arizona.

WIP – I finished the birthday scarf and fingerless mittens for a friend. 2 Weeks ago I took a refresher class at "Knitting Grounds" on the Entrelac scarf. See picture. I'm making this with  Trendsetters "Tonalita". The yarn is 52% wool and 48% acrylic. I'm not liking how it felts to itself. The colors are great and its so so soft. I'm planning on finishing Entrelac #1 scarf. I also took a sock class from my friend Stephanie at "The Grounds". I wanted to learn to knit socks on a small circular 12". Well for my foot size I think I'll need a 9" circular. I'm making the "Slouch Sock" out of Socks, Socks, Socks. Which is a great book.  I'm to the toe decrease on #1 sock and I'm on the 3 slouch on #2 sock.

What Audiobooks I'm Listen To – I'm listen to "Divine Justice" By David Baldacci read by Ron McLarty in the car. I find myself sitting in the driveway all the time. A great listen. Also on mu Sansa I've listened to  Spare Chanfe bye Robert Parker read by Kate Burton. 3*.

What's On My Night Stand -  Been to tired to read
L.

What's Pod Cast - On My Sansa - I-POD  "Knitpicks", "Sticks and Strings", and Let's Knit 2-gether".

Weather – Snow showers tonight. Low 20. 1 to 2 inches of snow. Itidarod start tomorrow and after that we don't want no more stinking snow.

Happy Valentines Day

Well this will be short -
I've been working on my "Slouch Socks".
I'm knitting them on 12" circulars. I'm taking a classes at "Knitting Grounds" and the teacher is my good friend Stephanine. She has a lot of good ideas about socks. We are all enjoy the class and each other's company. I'll write more next week. I'm off tonight to "Friday Night Knit". Last week went to the cabin so I missed. Tomorrow is "Knitters of the North" guild meeting at 1PM and in the morning I'm helping with a sale - "yarn stash sale". So I'll get my fiber fix for sure tomorrow.
Happy Knitting

January 28th

What I'm Doing – I've been busy between work and putting Christmas decorations away. My big project is loading my "stash" on to Ravelry.

WIP – I finished the baby hat and gave to the baby. I started a birthday scarf and fingerless mittens for a friend. I'm using my own pattern for both. I made 1 fingerless mitten flat and planned on seaming but decided that I didn't like. I frogged and then made in the round. The only tricky part was the thumb hole. Woo woo I did it. I posted my pattern on my Ravelry project page. I had 2 skeins of "bumpy lumpy" yarn that my sister gave me for Christmas and it I knit the scarf out of the 1st skein but that oh hold, made the "fingerless mittens" now I'm finishing the scarf with the remainder of the yarn.

What Audiobooks I'm Listen To – I finished "Gone"by Jonathan Kellerman. Read by John Rubinstein. 3* I just finished with "Cruel Intent" by J.A. Jance. Very good. I'm listening to "Cross Country" by James Patterson. This is my car book. I just finish 24 hours by Greg Iles was excellent. As usual. Now I'm listening to "Spare Change" by Robert Parker. I just downloaded them from the library on my "Fuze".Download then drag n drop.

What's On My Night Stand - "The Gold Coast" by Nelson De Mille. Still...... L

What's Pod Cast - On My Sansa - I-POD"Knitpicks" and Philospher's Zone" - Recommended by Dave Reidy from "Sticks and Strings".

Weather – Snow showers tonight. Low 16 with NEE wind. Brrr. 1 to 2 inches of snow. old and a little snow. Boooo.

Facebook and what I think

I joined facebook this weekend just to help a fellow knitter who was having problems with the interface. I can not believe how invasive this program is. I'm thankful I didn't sign up at work on my break. They let us check our hotmail accts. at work... but if I had signed up at work they would have sent and invitie to my address book and then I could have been fired. They send an invitation to my blog because I have an email set up to update my blog if I want. Everywhere I go too at my computer at home and some at work I see " Check out my Facebook profile". I would never.. I repeat NEVER had signed up if I'd had known this. I might regret this yet.
